Nutmeg Orchid Society was organized in 2008 and is affiliated with the American Orchid Society.
NSOS meets 12:30 to 4:30 the first or second Sunday of the month in Unionville, CT. ( See the Events tab for the actual date & time.)
Our monthly meetings offer a Show & Tell table, plants for sale, access to a lending library, and well known speakers from across the United States.
We also offer an annual picnic, an annual orchid show, and other special events that provide opportunities for members to learn about orchids.
The next NSOS event is on April 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Note this is a change in schedule.
Karen Timko will talk about Orchids for Beginners. If you bought a new plant at our orchid show and want to know how to help it thrive, this is a good place to start.

NSOS provides many tools for our members to learn about orchids. Our speakers provide invaluable information regarding basic orchid care and propagation as well as sharing their visits to natural orchid habitats.
Our Robert Hirnyk library has an extensive collection of books that members can borrow.
